The Gateshead branch recently looked after our grandma, the service from start to finish was amazing especially from Nicola who kept in contact with the family the full time and took us through the full process. For such a sad and difficult time Nicola made sure it was as nice and easy as possible as it could be for us, we will forever be thankful and could not reccomend this branch enough.

Thank you to Walker & Morrell in supporting myself and my family through the loss of my mother. Natalie was professional throughout, communication was great- just the right amount. I felt my mother was at the heart of everything they did, from collecting her from the hospital to caring for her in the chapel of rest, putting her favourite perfume on before we visited, to her being received into church the evening before her requiem mass the following day. I was able to make appointments easily to visit at the Chapel of rest, greeted by Brian on a weekend. The staff at Walker & Morrell are fantastic and I would highly recommend this company in a time when you need someone the most

In the worst of times that any family has to go through I can't say enough good things about Sam and Carolyn from Walker and Morrell Washington branch for bringing comfort to the family.

My partner requested a Direct Cremation and after speaking to Sam at Walker and Morrell we went with an Unattended Service. This struck the perfect balance between honouring Shirley's wishes and including the family in the process (I'd never heard of this type of service but I'd recommend it to any family thinking about a direct cremation).

Sam and the rest of the staff at Walker and Morrell treat Shirley with care, respect and love from the moment they turned up at the house to moment they took her in to Birtley Crematorium. She offered up advice and suggestions that we'd never have thought of as a family. These ideas really made us feel included in the arrangements and helped us cope a little easier in such an awful time.

Also special mention to Carolyn for all of the help and support with the chapel of rest and all the daft questions which she dealt with compassion and empathy.

I can't recommend Walker and Morrell enough and would like to pass on my thanks and the thanks of the rest of the family.

In particular, Sam and Carolyn were exceptional. From the very beginning, they treated us with genuine warmth, patience and compassion. At such an emotional and overwhelming time, they guided us through everything calmly and professionally, making sure we always felt listened to and supported.

Every detail was handled with great care, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Most importantly, we knew that my Nanna was being treated with the dignity and respect she deserved, which brought enormous comfort to our family.

On the day of the funeral, everything was carried out beautifully. Their calm presence and attention to detail allowed us to focus entirely on saying goodbye and celebrating my Nanna’s life, knowing everything else was in safe hands.

Sam and Carolyn made one of the most difficult times in our lives that little bit easier, and we will always be grateful to them. I would recommend Walker & Morrell without hesitation.
